13th February : World Radio Day

World Radio Day is observed every year on 13th February to celebrate radio as a medium. In 2019, Radio is still one of the most reactive, dynamic and engaging media adapting to the changes of the 21st century, offering new ways to participate and interact. World Radio Day was proclaimed on 3rd November 2011 by the 36th General Conference of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) after originally being proposed by the Kingdom of Spain.

All India Radio was founded in the year 1930 and at present it has 99.19% population coverage and 18 FM channels.
