As per the official notification released by IBPS for the recruitment of clerical cadre, this year some of the NPA hit public sector banks will not be participating in the recruitment procedure as they are brought under PCA (Prompt Corrective Action) by RBI. For the year 2018-19 approximately 15 to 20 lakh candidates have applied for the post of Clerical Cadre in public sector banks and only 7883 will get the final selection.

Also the exam pattern of IBPS Clerk Prelims exam has been changed this year by introducing sectional time limit of 20 minutes in each section without making any changes in the sectional cutoff. Candidates now need to clear sectional as well as overall cutoff for getting selected for the next phase of mains examination. They will have to compete with each other in each section  within the stipulated given time frame to qualify the selection procedure.
